STEP 01: Grinding & Prepwork
The first step is actually the most important step. A long lasting floor depends on proper prepwork. Grinding the concrete creates a profile on the substrate that allows the epoxy resins to penetrate the concrete, creating a strong bond.
One of the leading causes of epoxy floors peeling and chipping away is due to poor prepwork.
STEP 02: Patching & Repair
Here we patch and repair any imperfections such as cracks and un-level areas.
We do so by utilizing a special crack or leveling repair
kit.
STEP 03: Base Coat Epoxy Primer
We apply a pigmented epoxy base coat that acts as a glue trap which bonds to the concrete and provides the flakes with an adhesive to cure to.
STEP 04: Decorative Flakes Coat
This is where the elegance comes in. We apply a full broadcast of colored flakes to form a seamless and uniform finish.
Flakes come in two sizes: 1/8" and 1/4".
There is a plethora of colors and varieties to choose from!
STEP 05: Scrape, Vacuum, Detailing
Once the flakes cure to the base coat epoxy primer we scrape the surface to remove any flakes that did not adhere as well as achieve your desired texture.
STEP 06: Top Coat Sealer
Finally, we seal your brand new floor with a durable top coat of clear epoxy resin.
This glossy finish is UV stable, hot tire resistant, oil and grease resistant and easy to clean!
